MyComplianceOffice (MCO) appointed John Schobel as president on Tuesday, as the provider of compliance management software for the financial services industry looks to continue its growth trajectory following the securing of more than $100 million in financing.
MCO now serves more than 1,500 client firms across more than 125 countries. MCO reported a 22% revenue increase from 2024 to 2025 and onboarded more than 100 new firms over the same period.
Schobel’s appointment follows MCO’s recent strategic growth financing of more than $100 million from Accel-KKR Credit Partners, which will support the company’s continued expansion and further development of its market-leading solutions for financial services firms.
As co-founder and CEO of RegEd for more than 25 years, Schobel grew the company from a startup. During his tenure, he led RegEd’s expansion with new offerings and drove product innovation across its enterprise client base.
“Compliance technology is radically changing and it’s a pivotal time to be a part of it,” Schobel said in a news release. “Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to partner with the industry to create advanced automation to address the most difficult compliance problems. Helping to lead MCO to the next level of its success is the perfect challenge for me: MCO has an incredibly broad set of solutions, and the vision and technical capability to deliver them to a global enterprise client base.
“The roadmap is impressive and I’m excited to join MCO as its platform and use of emerging technologies offer a truly powerful combination. What Brian and his team have built is uniquely positioned to help financial firms meet today’s compliance challenges,” Schobel continued.

In his role as president, Schobel will partner with CEO and founder Brian Fahey to oversee MCO’s continued investment and growth.
“A true RegTech pioneer, John is one of the industry’s foremost innovators and most accomplished executives. His deep roots in the compliance industry and his proven ability to lead talented teams, create transformation, and drive growth make him an ideal fit for MCO,” Fahey said. “John’s values and commitment to the customer experience align with ours, and he will strengthen every aspect of our business.”
Fahey added, “His experience in software leadership — from startup to enterprise provider — will allow us to build on our momentum and continue advancing our solutions. Agreeing to join us is a huge vote of confidence, and I couldn’t be more excited to work with someone of his caliber.”
MCO continues to prioritize innovation as it advances its platform to help financial services firms unify compliance operations and leverage artificial intelligence.
Over the past year, MCO launched multiple new offerings, including digital asset personal trading to address rising conflict-of-interest risks and enhanced AI-powered capabilities.
“The recent strategic financing will be a catalyst for accelerating that progress and delivering even greater compliance insight and efficiency to its global client base,” MCO said.
