MARKHAM, Ontario -

Canadian Black Book has named a new director of business development.

Hired for the role was James Hancock, whose background includes 14 years working with a luxury automaker in Canada and the U.S.

Hancock has spent the last eight years working in the areas of residual value risk, lease portfolio management and remarketing off-lease vehicles.

“Given his specific experience in what our core areas of business are, in data and analytics, it quickly became clear that James was the most qualified candidate for this position with Canadian Black Book,” CBB vice president of sales Yolanda Biswah said in a news release.

“As our team grows, it is reassuring internally and for our clients to know that we continue to seek out the best talent, so we can continue to innovate and deliver the best data services possible to Canada’s auto industry,” she said.

Added Hancock: “Canadian Black Book is known for providing the best, most accurate valuation data to Canada’s auto sector and I am proud to be part of this team that has built such a solid reputation for precision and quality data.

“I look forward to developing and showcasing the new data-driven products that CBB brings to market, to help OEMs, banks and lenders, dealers, insurers and consumers make more informed decisions.”
