Auto Shield has added longtime industry executive Scott Ashby as its new senior vice president of operations.

The F&I provider for Canadian dealerships said Ashby will oversee “operational excellence, dealer relations and the continued evolution of ASC’s client concierge and claims experience” as it continues a period of national expansion and digital modernization.

“Scott’s combination of strategic leadership and hands-on execution makes him an exceptional addition to our team,” Auto Shield principal Don Miller said. “His deep understanding of both the dealership and OEM ecosystems aligns perfectly with our mission to redefine protection and the claims experience for customers and dealer partners across North America.”

Ashby’s resume includes more than 30 years of experience in OEM, warranty, and protection product operations, most recently as head of protection products for Hyundai Capital Canada.

He has also held leadership roles with Toyota Financial Services, Sym-Tech Dealer Services, Safe-Guard Products Canada, Nissan Motor Corporation and Ford Motor Company of Canada. Ashby began his automotive career as a class A licensed technician. He has been recognized with the Federation of Automobile Dealer Associations of Canada’s Award of Excellence.

In a news release, Auto Shield said the addition of Ashby is part of its commitment to scaling its programs, strengthening national dealer partnerships and expanding the company’s operations in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia and the Atlantic provinces, and into U.S. markets.

“Auto Shield is uniquely positioned at the intersection of technology, data and customer experience,” Ashby said, adding his goal is “to help elevate our protection products and ensure every dealer and driver experiences the premium service ASC is known for.”
