Go Auto has been in the Vancouver area for years.

But now, for the first time, it’s headed downtown.

The Edmonton-based dealership group announced it has acquired Downtown Kia, its first dealership in downtown Vancouver. The new location is Go Auto’s 15th in the greater Vancouver area.

“This is an exciting step forward for Go Auto,” company president Phil Abram said. “Our expansion into downtown Vancouver aligns perfectly with our growth strategy and reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering outstanding automotive experiences across Canada and the U.S.”

In a news release, Go Auto thanked the dealership’s previous management — general manager Rob Backman and dealer principal Marc Ahnert, as well as Daryl Endresen and Andrea Backman.

“Their leadership and dedication to excellence have made Downtown Kia a trusted name in Vancouver. We are honored to build on the foundation they’ve created,” the company said. “To the staff at Downtown Kia, welcome to the Go Auto family. We’re excited to support your growth and celebrate future successes together. To our amazing customers, it’s business as usual — same great service, now backed by the strength and support of Go Auto.”

Go Auto now operates 68 dealerships in six Canadian provinces and the U.S. state of Washington. Downtown Kia is its third Kia store in Western Canada.

“This acquisition deepens our relationship with Kia Canada,” Abram said, “and reinforces our shared focus on innovation, customer service and long-term success.”
