Go Auto is on the go. And right now, its destination is clearly the United States.
The Canadian dealership group announced it has acquired Sunrise Ford Fontana and Sunrise Ford North Hollywood in California from Kevin Knight of the Knight Group, a move Go Auto called “a transformative step” as the company reaches deeper into the American market.
The dealerships are the ninth and 10th acquired by Go Auto this year, six of them coming in an end-of-the-year flurry this month. With last week’s purchase of Car Pros’ three stores in the Seattle-Tacoma area, Go Auto’s U.S. holdings have grown in a matter of days from two dealerships in northern Washington near the Canadian border to seven locations with a footprint extending to the Los Angeles market in Southern California.
And the plan is to continue aggressively growing.
“Expanding into California is a major milestone in our U.S. growth strategy,” Go Auto president Phil Abram said. “We’re full speed ahead on growing across North America, and we’re actively looking for new dealerships and top talent who want to grow their careers with us.”
Edmonton-based Go Auto currently operates 76 dealerships in Western Canada and the U.S.
