SCI Lease Corp. has new options for Canadian consumers looking to lease, through a new partnership with Vietnamese automaker VinFast.

SCI now offers Canadians a leasing program for VinFast electric vehicles, growing the automaker’s presence in the country. VinFast already has opened stores across the country, and delivered hundreds of vehicles to Canadian customers, the automaker said in a press release. Offerings in the lease program will include the brand’s most popular VF 8 model.

“We are excited to partner with VinFast Canada to offer their customers competitive leasing options on their electric vehicles,” said Alan Bird, president and CEO of SCI Lease Corp., in the press release. “This collaboration marks a significant step forward for us to expand our leasing portfolio and provide more Canadian consumers with affordable and flexible leasing programs.”

VinFast said in the press release it sees the partnership as a way to “accelerate the transition to sustainable transportation.”

Robert Muller, deputy CEO of sales and marketing at VinFast Canada, said: “EVs are the future of transportation, and VinFast always seeks collaboration opportunities with industry leading partners around the world to provide our customers with outstanding services and benchmark ownership experiences, contributing to the global green revolution. This partnership with SCI Lease Corp is a significant step towards achieving that goal.”

Although infrastructure is still catching up, SCI cites growing demand for sustainable transportation and electric vehicles as impetus for the move with VinFast.

SCI said that leasing an EV can be an affordable alternative for customers who cannot afford to buy.

“The partnership with VinFast is an important milestone for SCI Lease Corp,” said Bird, “Not only do we have the opportunity to promote sustainable transportation, but our leasing programs also make electric vehicles accessible to more people with the added advantage of reducing their carbon footprint.”
