North American dealer-owned finance and insurance provider Tricor Automotive Group has joined with Signal Technologies in a strategic partnership designed to streamline and optimize Canadian dealers’ used-vehicle sales in the U.S.
Tricor, based in Ontario, serves more than 220 Canadian dealerships, as well as U.S. dealers.
In a news release, Tricor said partnering with Signal, a cross-border vehicle export and remarketing platform, gives its dealers access to an end-to-end technology platform, cross-border regulatory expertise and a network of U.S. buyers, allowing Canadian dealers to participate directly in the U.S. auto market.
“We chose Signal because they are the clear leader in Canada to U.S. vehicle exports,” Tricor CEO Loreto Grimaldi said. “Their technology, compliance processes and downstream buyer network remove the friction of cross-border sales. It’s a win for our dealers and a major step forward in our growth strategy.”
Signal’s platform is designed to simplify the export process, from compliance and tariff management to logistics, titling and final sale. The companies said Signal offers expertise in U.S. import regulations and a scalable remarketing operation to help exporters take advantage of the huge demand for vehicles in the U.S.
“We’re honored to be chosen by Tricor as its premier export partner,” Signal CEO Steve Jillings said. “Together we’re transforming the way Canadian dealers can participate in the significantly larger U.S. market — transparently, faster, easier and more profitably than ever before.”
The partnership is already active, the companies said, with vehicles currently flowing through the Signal export platform into U.S. wholesale markets.
