Alfa, a SaaS solution for equipment and auto finance, on Tuesday released Data Guardian, an advanced feature of Alfa Cloud. That’s the platform that delivers Alfa Systems as a service on the AWS public cloud.

By combining dedicated isolated networking with multi-region and multi-provider data backups, Alfa highlighted that Data Guardian represents its approach to single-tenant SaaS resilience, “setting new standards for data resilience and compliance with existing and emerging resilience legislation.”

Data Guardian offers a “triple shield” for data protection in the form of nightly backups to the following destinations:

—Primary region isolated vault: Immediate, immutable backups stored in a dedicated vault in the primary region

—Secondary region isolated vault: Geo-redundancy for regional disasters, ensuring recovery even if the entire primary region is affected

—Isolated second cloud platform: Complete diversification of vendor and platform to mitigate even the most catastrophic cloud-specific events

“Data security is increasingly vital, and Data Guardian positions Alfa as a leader in data governance and regulatory compliance, supporting stringent industry regulations and simplifying audit processes,” said Alex Barnes, Alfa’s director of cloud hosting.

“While Alfa’s competitors do prioritize data security and disaster recovery, there’s often a shared responsibility model for data security and backup,” Barnes continued in a news release. “Alfa is the only provider that offers such a service and, for our customers, it represents not just ultimate peace of mind but significant cost savings too.

“Data Guardian isn’t just about ‘backup;’ it’s about eliminating downtime and ensuring data availability, in even the most extreme scenarios,” Barnes went on to say.

For auto and equipment finance operators, Alfa acknowledged every minute of downtime means lost deals, frustrated customers and reputational damage. The Data Guardian strategy delivers minimal RTO and RPO, ensuring quick restoration of critical operations.

Alfa said many of clients are existing Alfa Cloud customers and already operate under Data Guardian’s protection. Matthew Colville-Foley is head of change delivery at Novuna Business Finance.

“Since migrating to Alfa Cloud, we’ve experienced a remarkable transformation in how we operate,” Colville-Foley said in the news release. “Data security and access control are standout features, giving us complete confidence in the integrity and confidentiality of our information. The strong security posture and robust governance model align seamlessly with FCA requirements, demonstrating our commitment to running supported and well managed systems.”
