A little more than two months following the passing of co-founder and chief executive officer Stan Schwarz, PassTime on Monday announced it has named Jeffrey “Jake” Frank as chairman and CEO of the GPS device company.

Additionally, the company has appointed Chris Macheca as president in addition to remaining as the company’s chief operating officer. 

Frank is the other co-founder of PassTime and previously served in numerous executive positions in the past, including executive vice president. Since 1990, he has worked in the auto industry and since founding the company in 1992, Frank has been instrumental in the continued success of PassTime over the past several decades. 

The company previously announced that Schwarz died on March 15 in Indialantic, Fla., because of complications from pancreatic cancer.

“Stan treated every stranger as a friend and every friend like family,” the company said in the announcement of his passing at age 61. “His smile, laughter, and optimism made others strive to be better people, and the world is a better place for it.

“He will forever be in our hearts and the memories will always warm our souls and bring smiles to our faces. His presence alone brought light to the darkest room and filled it with a joy and laughter that will never fade,” the company went on to say.

Along with Frank in a top leadership post, Macheca has been with the company for 19 years. During his career at PassTime, Macheca has been involved in all areas including sales, development, IT, operations, and manufacturing.

Prior to being named chief operating officer in 2015, Macheca served as executive vice president of operations.
