It’s been a busy summer for the American Recovery Association.

A couple weeks after rolling out its tool to help with compliance mandates in all 50 states, ARA on Monday announced the launch of a new safety feature within RDN’s repossession platform: Violent Account Flagging.

The association highlighted this new capability can give recovery professionals the ability to identify and track accounts associated with violent incidents — a critical advancement that has the potential to save lives and significantly improve agent safety in the field.

Historically, when a repossession agent encountered a violent situation — such as a weapon being drawn or a physical altercation — ARA said there was no standardized system for warning others. As accounts moved through the recovery process, the association said critical safety information was often lost, leaving new agents unaware of prior threats and exposed to unnecessary risk.

Thanks to the ongoing collaboration between RDN and the ARA Technology Committee, officials said that vulnerability has now been addressed.

The newly launched Violent Account Flagging feature can allow recovery companies to log violent incidents directly within RDN’s platform. This information is preserved and remains visible throughout the entire account lifecycle, providing critical safety context to:

—Repossession companies and agents

—Lenders

—Forwarders

“This is more than a technology upgrade — it’s a life-saving advancement,” said Todd Case, chair of the ARA Technology Committee. Case worked in law enforcement for more than a decade before getting into the repossession business.

“Protecting our people on the front lines has always been our top priority, and this tool helps ensure that no agent walks into danger unknowingly,” Case added.

ARA president Vaughn Clemmons praised RDN for its responsiveness and commitment to industry safety. By actively engaging with ARA’s Technology Committee, Clemmons said RDN continues to demonstrate its dedication to building solutions that reflect the real-world needs of recovery professionals.

“Collaboration like this shows what’s possible when associations and technology providers work together with a shared purpose,” Clemmons said. “We’re proud of this milestone and excited about what it means for the future of agent safety.”

To support adoption of this new feature, ARA will release comprehensive training and instructional materials in the coming weeks. All resources will be made available at www.repo.org, ensuring companies of all sizes can implement the feature effectively and consistently.

“ARA encourages all recovery industry stakeholders — including lenders, forwarders, and repossession agencies — to integrate the Violent Account Flagging functionality into their standard workflows to help set a new standard for safety across the industry,” the association said.
