Hudson Cook partner Eric Johnson is taking on extra responsibilities nowadays.
Johnson is also chair of the Conference on Consumer Finance Law (CCFL), which started its year-long 100th anniversary celebration in September with a series of events and initiatives recognizing a century of education, scholarship, leadership, and excellence in consumer financial services law.
Founded in 1927, the CCFL has served as a forum for attorneys, regulators, academics, judges, and financial services professionals to examine developments in consumer finance law and to foster thoughtful dialogue among the many constituencies that shape the field.
“Reaching our 100th anniversary is an extraordinary milestone for the Conference on Consumer Finance Law,” Johnson said in a news release. “For a century, the CCFL has brought together the leading voices in consumer financial services law to exchange ideas, educate one another, and help shape the development of this constantly evolving area of law.
“This anniversary gives us an opportunity not only to celebrate the people and accomplishments that brought us to this point, but also to look ahead to the CCFL’s next century,” he continued.
As part of the centennial year, the CCFL plans to recognize the individuals who have contributed to the organization throughout its history, celebrate former leaders and members, highlight significant moments from the Conference’s past, and introduce special programming and initiatives designed to commemorate the organization’s legacy.

“Our history is important, but this celebration is also about the future,” Johnson said. “The laws, technology, products, and public policies affecting consumer financial services will continue to change, and the need for informed discussion and high-quality education will be every bit as important in the next 100 years as it has been in our first 100.
“We look forward to celebrating this milestone with our members, supporters, speakers, sponsors, and friends throughout the coming year,” he added.
Additional announcements regarding the CCFL’s centennial programming and activities will be made throughout the anniversary year.
