TUSTIN, Calif. -

Compliance consulting company Auto Advisory Services announced who will become its new president while also revealing on Thursday that current president and principal Rob Cohen will remain as chairman.

Joining AAS from the California New Car Dealers Association is Jonathan Morrison, who will take over the president post on March 17. Morrison has been with CNCDA since 2006, most recently as director of legal and regulatory affairs.

While with the association, Morrison was responsible for CNCDA's legal, compliance, and regulatory operations, and was an architect behind many of CNCDA's regulatory and legislative lobbying projects.

Morrison also was the principal author of compliance articles in the CNCDA Bulletin and various CNCDA Dealer Guides, and content editor of the CNCDA Dealer Management Guide and F&I Compliance Manual.

"Jonathan's background makes him uniquely qualified, not only to take over the day-to-day operations of AAS, but also to help us expand the services and products we provide for dealerships," Cohen said.

"There are very few people in the country that have the depth of dealership compliance experience that Jonathan possesses," Cohen continued. "He is well known throughout the industry as an insightful and zealous dealer advocate."

Morrison shared his thoughts about leaving CNCDA and joining AAS

"I am honored to have represented California's dealers before the state's regulatory and law enforcement agencies over the past eight years, and I look forward to translating the lessons I've learned in doing so directly to the showroom floor," he said.

"I am humbled that Rob has chosen me to be his successor and I am very excited to begin working with the talented team of attorneys and professionals that have made Auto Advisory Services such a great company," Morrison went on to say.
