CARMEL, Ind. — This morning, KAR Holdings announced the launch of Automotive Finance Consumer Division.

The AFCD product line provides access to a fully integrated dealer management system (DMS), Dealer Desktop® developed by Nowcom Corp., as well as virtual F&I services, lender financing, floor plan programs provided by Automotive Finance Corp., vehicle service contracts, and GAP coverage.

"When we purchased the ADESA Inc. family of companies last year, it was clear to us that some of our customers needed access to a variety of F&I products and services to remain competitive and profitable in a very aggressive used-car marketplace," explained Brian Clingen, chief executive officer of KAR Holdings.

"AFCD was designed to address those needs in an effective and efficient way to enhance dealer productivity and profitability," he continued.

AFCD is headquartered in Carmel, Ind., with Margot Hanulak serving as president. Officials pointed out that Hanulak is an industry veteran with more 20 years of auto retail and wholesale experience.

Hanulak indicated, "Dealers will be able to take advantage of the DMS, privately labeled as AFCD Dealer Desktop Powered By Nowcom. Working with Nowcom has enabled AFCD to offer dealers the technology that makes possible a fully integrated solution that includes forms for retail contracts, inventory management and reports.

"Dealers can add features such as credit reports, Kelley Blue Book, N.A.D.A. and Black Book. Dealer Desktop allows dealers to be more efficient and enables them to work deals and print contracts and forms from just one application," she continued.

Hanulak went on to say, "As important as providing AFCD Dealer Desktop Powered By Nowcom as a solution for our customers is, we also know it is equally important for our dealers to have access to lending options for their retail customers.

"AFCD has established relationships with several lenders and will offer access to finance options in select markets. Over time, AFCD will expand its portfolio of lender options to allow for all levels of credit to be supported," she added.

AFCD also offers virtual F&I services to help independent dealers who would like to offer customers finance options but do not have the budget or staff for a specific department, executives highlighted.

"As the automotive market changes, AFCD is poised to change with it and expand its portfolio of available products and services. We are actively pursuing additional lender relationships and will continue to expand product offerings and services for our dealers across the country," Hanulak concluded.
