While two other industry service providers recently celebrated a collaboration that goes back 15 years, MBSi and LocateSmarter announced a partnership that began on Tuesday.

The relationship means DMV vehicle registration, location data, and valuable contact information will be integrated directly into RecoveryConnect.

MBSi and LocateSmarter highlighted this partnership significantly expands the data currently available within RecoveryConnect to help support recovery agents in their light skip-tracing efforts by streamlining data workflows, enhancing location accuracy, and accelerating recovery timelines.

LocateSmarter is a data and analytics company providing skip-tracing tools through its InvestigateSmarter solution, which provides access to DMV vehicle ownership data, such as verified vehicle registration, lien holder, and contact information that leads to smarter recoveries.

The integration into RecoveryConnect allows for actionable searches within a single platform, saving time, reducing friction, and leading to faster repossessions.

The company said agents using LocateSmarter’s DMV data have reported up to a 15% lift in first-night repossession rates using insights from the platform.

“Recovery agents have enough on their plates and should not have to jump between platforms to get the data they need,” said Alex Price, director of training and development at LocateSmarter.

“By integrating our DMV Lite Data Report into RecoveryConnect, we’re putting verified ownership data one step closer to the decision that matters — the recovery itself. We look forward to building on this momentum with MBSi,” Price continued in a news release.

MBSi reiterated that it is focused on developing advanced technologies and tools to help clients work more efficiently, effectively and safely while building trust, maintaining compliance and reducing costs.

“LocateSmarter is the latest partner helping us align critical data sources within RecoveryConnect, giving agents direct access to skip tracing data within our platform,” said Heather Ford, senior vice president of product and marketing at MBSi. “This is exactly the kind of partnership that moves the industry forward — better data, less friction, stronger results for our clients.”

The integration will be on display at the North American Repossessors Summit (NARS) next week in Orlando, Fla., where attendees can see it firsthand at the MBSi booth (No. 56).
