Top 10 Markets for Pre-Approved Financing Utilization, Units Sold to Deep Subprime Buyers in February

BANDON, Ore. — CNW Research pinpointed not only how many
buyers obtained pre-approved vehicle financing and utilized it to purchase a
used vehicle last month, but the firm also determined how many units were sold
to deep subprime consumers.
A total of 148,179 buyers secured a pre-approved auto loan
and bought a used vehicle last month, according to CNW. The market leading the
way was Los Angeles with 8,388 purchasers falling into this category.
The Top 10 for February included:
1. Los Angeles: 8,388
2. New York: 7,838
3. Chicago: 4,045
4. San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose Calif.: 3,942
5. Philadelphia: 3,309
6. Dallas-Fort Worth Texas: 3,289
7. Non-DMA Areas: 3,070
8. Houston: 2,966
9. Seattle-Tacoma, Wash.: 2,821
10. Atlanta: 2,768
Analysts found that a total of 325,007 deep subprime consumers — buyers with credit scores of 550 and lower — purchased a used vehicle last
month. CNW indicated New York led the way with 26,683 units sold to buyers in
this credit category.
