As the holiday season shifts into high gear, Canada’s largest dealership group is jumping on board with a nationwide initiative to support Ronald McDonald House.

Through the Drive the Spirit of the Season campaign, Dilawri’s 84 Canadian dealerships in five provinces are serving as collection stations for donations for families staying at Ronald McDonald Houses across the country while their child receives vital medical care.

Dilawri encourages customers, local community organizations and employees to donate new, unwrapped gifts from Ronald McDonald House’s Holiday Wish List. The company will contribute a starter kit of gifts, including items such as blankets, backpacks, hats and pencil crayons, with each collection box delivered.

“At Dilawri, we believe in the importance of giving back to the communities that support us across Canada,” vice president of marketing and communications Virginie Aubert said. “Partnering with Ronald McDonald House allows us to make a meaningful difference for families when they need it most, while uniting our dealerships and employees around a shared purpose this holiday season.”

The campaign, which runs through Dec. 12, seeks to support more than 2,000 families who will spend the holiday season at Canada’s Ronald McDonald Houses.

“When a child is seriously ill or injured, having family close makes all the difference,” Ronald McDonald House Alberta chief development officer Denise Kinghorn said. “This is especially true over the holidays. Through the generosity of partners like Dilawri, we’re able to make the holidays a little brighter for the families and children staying at the Ronald McDonald House.”

All donated items will be collected and delivered to the designated Ronald McDonald House locations on Dec. 16 in order for families receive their gifts in time for the holidays.
