The Association of Dealership Compliance Officers (ADCO) and the National Automotive Finance Association both recently rolled out revamped resources to help dealers and finance companies navigate the ongoing task of maintaining processes within state and federal guidelines.

ADCO hosted an educational webinar with Association of Finance & Insurance Professionals (AFIP) president Shannon Robertson and Hudson Cook partner Eric Johnson designed to help dealerships translate regulatory expectations into everyday operating practices.

In previewing the session titled, “From Guidance to the Showroom: Operationalizing the FTC’s Advertising Expectations,” ADCO said, “We’ll move beyond simply reviewing the FTC guidance and focus on implementation, including advertised prices, mandatory fees, rebates and discounts, dealer financing, optional products, inventory availability, third-party websites, and vendor oversight.

“We’ll also examine how to establish ownership, identify control points, monitor advertising, document reviews, and create accountability across Marketing, BDC, Sales, F&I, and management,” ADCO continued.

“The goal isn’t another policy sitting on a shelf. It is a repeatable compliance process that works from the first advertisement through the final transaction,” ADCO went on to say about the webinar that’s available here.

Meanwhile, the NAF Association highlighted this week that its Compliance Roundtable Program is evolving.

Leadership said the NAF Compliance Roundtable is taking a fresh approach in 2027, creating more opportunities for compliance professionals to connect, share perspectives, and discuss the challenges they face.

The redesigned program will feature:

—Six annual meetings: Four virtual discussions and two in-person gatherings alongside the NAF Annual Conference and Compliance Champions Workshop.

—One-hour virtual meetings: Focused conversations that fit more easily into your day.

—Timely regulatory insights: Federal and state updates facilitated by Hudson Cook LLP.

The association added that organization-based enrollment is now available to both NAF member and non-member organizations for eligible colleagues with a compliance title or meaningful compliance responsibilities.
