CarDoor has launched a consumer car-selling platform, MarketCheck, where a consumer can post their car for sale to hundreds of dealers and receive offers in real time.

Once an offer is delivered and the consumer accepts, CarDoor handles paperwork, arranges vehicle pickup/dropoff and provides payment to the consumer.

Meanwhile, the company’s CarDoorX platform provides an exclusive dealer marketplace, where dealerships can tap into a pipeline of consumer-sourced used cars.

There are no buy fees on CarDoorX and the platform offers a fully managed process, handling negotiations, inspections and paperwork.

“When you try to sell your car, every offer you get is really just someone’s best guess,” CarDoor president and co-founder Imran Vasta said in a release. “Neither a dealer’s single offer, an online instant offer from an algorithm, nor a private buyer’s opinion tells you what your car is actually worth. MarketCheck changes that.

“For the first time, sellers get access to real demand from hundreds of dealers actively competing to buy their car. That’s not a guess. That’s the market.”

CarDoor is currently available in Ontario and plans to expand elsewhere in Canada next year.
