The winners of this Grand Prix aren’t the drivers. More like the pit crew.

myKaarma created its Tech Video Grand Prix to celebrate vehicle service technicians who demonstrate exceptional skill in communicating vehicle repair needs through clear, engaging and professional inspection videos.

The provider of service lane technology for franchise dealerships selected the five winners of its 2026 Grand Prix: Josh Arnold of Austin Subaru in Austin, Texas; AJ Forster of Suburban Ford Sterling Heights in Sterling Heights, Mich.; Alec Martisauski of McGrath Kia of St. Charles in St. Charles, Ill.; Christophe Secrist of Land Rover Denver; and Gatlin Weidler of Mercedes-Benz of Greensboro in Greensboro, N.C.

In a news release, myKaarma said the competition included techs from throughout the U.S., as well as Puerto Rico and Canada, who submitted videos that were judged for clear communication to help customers understand and confidently approve recommended repairs.

The company said the winning videos stood out for their clarity, consistency and ability to effectively communicate repair needs, with the techs introducing themselves and maintaining a professional, customer-friendly tone; clearly showcasing areas of concern using visual inspection techniques; explaining recommended repairs in a simple, understandable way; and reinforcing customer confidence through transparent, informative communication.

The winners received a $500 Amazon gift card and will be featured in myKaarma’s blog. The company said the winning videos will serve as benchmarks for effective technician video communication in dealership service departments.

“Our data continues to show a strong connection between high-quality technician videos and increased repair order value,” myKaarma CEO Ujj Nath said. “When technicians clearly communicate their findings, customers are more comfortable approving the work. These winners set the standard for how video can be used to build trust and drive better service outcomes.”

This year’s contest followed myKaarma’s launch of Tech Video Grader, an artificial intelligence system built on the company’s Collaborative Workflow AI framework designed to help standardize technician video quality and give dealerships measurable insights into technician performance and communication effectiveness.
