EDMONTON, Alberta –
An ex-recreational vehicle dealer in Alberta is allegedly in some hot water after being arrested and dealt 97 charges under the Criminal Code of Canada last month.
Arnold Donszelmann — of Leisure RV Rentals Ltd., a company in Millet, Alberta, that had its business license revoked more than three years ago — has been charged by the Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry council with scores of fraud and theft charges dealing with “irregularities in the sale of recreational vehicles.”
The ex-dealer was slated for an appearance in provincial court in Edmonton.
Donszelmann’s charges are the following, according to AMVIC:
—49 counts of fraud over $5,000 under Section 380(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
—48 counts of theft over $5,000 under Section 334(a) of the Criminal Code.
“Leisure RV’s business license was canceled in November 2007. These charges come after a three-year investigation involving 28 victims and potentially $3 million in losses for consumers” said Bob Hamilton, AMVIC’s executive director.
