Chrysler Models Steal Spotlight in KBB Hot Car Report

Chrysler received some positive news on Thursday when three of its models made the list of top-five vehicles for traffic increases on Kelly Blue Book’s Kbb.com.
In the most recent Hot Car Report, the Mercedes-Benz CL-Class topped the list with 31 percent week-over-week growth in traffic on the site, but spots Nos. 2-4 were held by Chrysler models.
The Chrysler Sebring came in second (up 28.1 percent), followed by the Ram 1500 Regular Cab (up 26.7 percent) and the Ram 2500 Crew Cab (up 21 percent).
“The Ram family stands to add a potential member to its lineup in the future with the recently announced Ram Long-Hauler Concept,” KBB noted. “Interest in this concept vehicle translated to increased interest in existing Ram models and surely will help perceptions of ruggedness for the lineup.”
Placing fifth was the Mitsubishi Eclipse, which saw its traffic climb 18.2 percent amid news of the model’s production being shut down this year.
“With the timeline to purchase an Eclipse now shortened, potential shoppers flocked to research after hearing the news,” officials pointed out.
Looking at the weekly shopping activity changes for intro and redesigned models, KBB found that the 2012 Infiniti M was down 2.9 percent, the 2011 Audi A8 fell 3.2 percent, the 2011 Kia Optima dipped 6.7 percent, the 2011 Saab 9-4X dropped 6.8 percent and the 2011 Chrysler 300 saw activity decline 8.5 percent.
There was a 23.8-percent slide in activity for the 2012 Fiat 500.
