AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -

Chrysler is giving some of its top North American executives additional responsibilities, the company said Tuesday, as well as announcing a few other appointments within its leadership ranks.

President and chief executive officer of the Ram Truck brand Fred Diaz will now also serve as president and CEO for Chrysler de Mexico. This includes duties in Latin America.

Meanwhile, Chrysler Canada president and CEO Reid Bigland was given additional duties as president and CEO of the Dodge Car brand and head of U.S. sales.

Additionally, Chrysler named Ralph Giles to serve as president and CEO of the Street and Racing Technology brand — a new business unit for the automaker — and Chrysler’s Motorsports activities.

Giles will continue to head up exterior and interior design for the automaker.

Moving along, David Buckingham — who had been vice president of sales at Chrysler Canada — has been named chief operating officer for Chrysler Canada, a new position.

Also, Joe ChamaSrour has been moved over to International Operations. In that role, he reports to Mike Manley, who is the president and CEO for Jeep and the head of International Operations.

The aforementioned shifts were immediately effective.
