Carvana is bringing Inspection and Reconditioning Center capabilities to its ADESA Brasher’s auction in Rio Linda, Calif., the online used-car retailer said Tuesday.

Doing so will add reconditioning capacity to the auction as well as a new inventory pool in Carvana’s national network. This means a broader selection of retail used cars for consumers across the U.S. and faster delivery for retail buyers in California, along with a stronger offering for local wholesale buyers.

“Bringing IRC capabilities to ADESA Brasher’s strengthens our national network while improving the experience for both retail and wholesale customers in Northern California,” said Brian Boyd, Carvana’s senior vice president of inventory, in a news release.

“We’re excited to grow our local team and build on the site’s nearly 50-year history as we bring greater selection, faster delivery, and expanded capabilities to customers across the region.”

Carvana has started hiring for the location and anticipates it will eventually create roughly 100 jobs in inspection, reconditioning and vehicle fulfillment.  The jobs require no college degree and include comprehensive benefits and on-the-job training.

ADESA, then owned by KAR Auction Services, acquired the auction in 2016 as part of its purchase of the Brasher family’s eight auctions. Carvana acquired ADESA’s U.S. auctions in 2022.
