DAA Northwest Gears up for 20th Anniversary Sale & Celebration

DAA Northwest is reaching its 20th anniversary this week, and the ServNet auction is planning a two-day celebration.
The auction will host its annual anniversary sale promotion on Wednesday and Thursday.
Fleet/lease and select dealer consignment will be offered in the lanes on Wednesday afternoon, followed by a gala dinner party and fundraiser for DAA’s customers at the Spokane Convention Center.
After dining and a presentation from owners Bob McConkey and Greg Mahugh, auctioneers will take the stage to raise money for three local charities: The Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, Young Life of the Inland Northwest and the Union Gospel Mission.
DAA Northwest will match all funds raised.
“This community has been wonderful to us and our families,” McConkey said. “Giving back to it is a very natural thing for us to do.”
McConkey and Mahugh have been moving units down the lanes since their inaugural sale took place on a snowy November morning in 1992. McConkey and Mahugh had recently made the move from Seattle to the eastern side of Washington State with their families and were not accustomed to Spokane’s snow and ice.
With the help of a local dealer who still calls DAA Northwest “home” today, vehicles were started, dug out of snow banks and offered in the lanes. Less than a dozen units were sold that day.
The second day of this week’s anniversary event will include many more than just a dozen vehicles.
Thursday’s anniversary sale auction will feature 1,800 cars, trucks and bikes. Following the sale, dealers will have an opportunity to win up to $7,500 in prizes.
