Edmunds.com recently shed some light on which used cars have been the hottest for franchised dealers.  

The site found that the fastest-selling 1- to 5-year-old vehicle for franchised dealers in November was the Lexus RX 400h; and when taking all age vehicles under consideration, the fastest seller was the Suzuki Grand Vitara.

Specifically, the RX 400h (1- to 5-year-old) was at 21 days-to-turn in November, and the Grand Vitara (all ages) was at 16.

Joe Spina, the director of used-car analysis at Edmunds, and his team offered some additional context to go along with these numbers.

For the list of all-age-group vehicle, the top 10 list “seems to indicate at least some franchise dealers carry inventory that will meet the needs of consumers shopping for a lower-priced used car.”

Below is the complete list of top 10 fastest-selling used units among all age groups in November, with days-to-turn:

1. Suzuki Grand Vitara: 16
2. Dodge Intrepid: 18
3. Buick Terraza: 19
4. Lexus RX 300: 21
5. Mazda MPV: 22
6. Lexus RX 400h: 23
7 (tie) BMW 6 Series, Jaguar X-Type, Lexus CT 200h,Mazda Protege5: 24

As for 1- to 5-year-old vehicles, the vehicles with the lowest days-to-turn in November were:

1. Lexus RX 400h: 21
2. Lexus IS 350 C: 27
3. (tie) Audi S4, Mazda Tribute: 29
5. (tie) Audi A3, Mercedes-Benz SL-Class: 30
7. (tie) Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, BMW 7 Series, Volkswagne Golf, Land Rover LR2: 31

Edmunds noted that in both lists, only vehicles selling at franchhised dealers and meeting a volume threshold were included.
