MISHAWAKA, Ind. — Commemorating its silver anniversary last week, the South Bend Mishawaka Auto Auction celebrated 25 years with a sale that offered significant savings on buying and selling fees while also generating strong results.
The sale, which was held June 30, achieved a 64-percent sales rate on the 718 units that were consigned.
As a pat on the back to supporting dealers, there was slated to be a "roll back to the 50s fee reduction."
The buying and selling fees were both $25 each.
On the day of the sale, SBMAA also held an open house for the media.
For the last quarter century, the auction has been owned and run by Jay and Karen Smith. The facility was moved to its current location in 2002, and changed its name from Greater Mishawaka Auto Auction in 2008. It also changed its website at the same time.
