Reynolds names interim CEO; former chief files $300M suit against company

The Reynolds and Reynolds Company said in a news release Wednesday that president Chris Walsh has been named acting CEO.
The former CEO Tommy Barras is no longer with Reynolds, the company said.
In a separate news release on Tuesday, The Buzbee Law Firm said it has filed a $300 million lawsuit against Reynolds on behalf of Barras for breach of contract, tortious interference and wrongful termination.
The suit was filed in Harris County state court in Texas. More information can be found in the law firm’s release here.
Meanwhile, in its news release on Wednesday, Reynolds said Walsh has been president for the last three-and-a-half years and will retain that title, in addition to becoming acting CEO.
“I am both grateful and excited to lead Reynolds and Reynolds as Acting CEO,” Walsh said in the Reynolds news release. “I have had the opportunity to work hand in hand with our executive team for many years.
“It is the most talented and experienced team of leaders in our industry, and I cannot wait to continue our growth trajectory.”
Walsh later added in the release: “Our extremely talented and passionate associates will continue to drive innovation. The reason we all get up and come to work every morning is to help our customers be as successful as possible.
“The future of our company and our industry is bright, and I couldn’t be more excited to lead Reynolds and Reynolds.”
