The National Auto Auction Association has something cookin’ in a city known for delicious barbecue.

NAAA announced on Wednesday that the host auction for the 2026 World Automobile Auctioneers Championship (WAAC) will be DAA Memphis.

DAA Memphis is in Eads, Tenn., about 25 miles east of downtown Memphis. DAA Memphis was established in November 2001 and is an eight-lane facility.

The WAAC is a competition that draws top auctioneers from around the country and provides an opportunity to celebrate the best of automobile auctioneering. The WAAC highlights the importance of the auctioneer and ringman professions and is a showcase for spirited competition and fellowship each year.

NAAA acquired the WAAC in 2022. Capital City Auto Auction in St. Albans, W. Va., served as the inaugural WAAC host site in 2023 under NAAA ownership. The 2024 WAAC was held at ADESA Indianapolis, and the 2025 WAAC was held at Manheim Phoenix earlier this year.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to host the WAAC at DAA Memphis next year,” DAA vice president of operations John Swofford said. “It’s an incredible honor to welcome the industry’s best to compete and connect at one of our locations. This event not only showcases elite talent but also celebrates the energy and passion that are cornerstones of the auction industry.”

More information will be released about the 2026 WAAC in the coming weeks, including the date of the competition and hotel for competitors.

“We’re excited to bring the WAAC to Memphis next year — a city that is centrally located for many auctioneers,” NAAA executive director Paul Lips said. “DAA Memphis is a top-notch facility. I have no doubt that general manager Loren Lynch and his dedicated team will provide a high degree of professionalism, operational excellence, and commitment to service which have always defined the WAAC.”
