The next new employee in your dealership service department might not be human.

Reynolds and Reynolds announced the official release of Relo, a parts delivery robot designed to create efficiencies and increase safety for service departments.

Reynolds said Relo comes to market after months of development — and a sneak-peek appearance at the 2025 NADA Show in January.

The technology incorporates autonomous robotic movement of parts and integrates with the dealership DMS, the company said, to save time and help create a smoother shop workflow.

Reynolds president and acting CEO Chris Walsh said the robot will be featured at the Reynolds Retail Summit: Amplify 2025, coming up Aug. 17-18 in Dallas.

“Attendees at the event will have a first-hand look at the robot,” he said, “see its functionality and hear our expert staff talk about Relo and its capabilities so they can visualize the impact it can have in their service department.”

Relo is part of the Reynolds Retail Management System. Its programmed autonomous routes allow it to know where it needs to take parts once it’s engaged, and its lidar technology senses obstacles so it can avoid obstructions by navigating around them.

Reynolds said the robot is designed to keep technicians in their bays using their skills rather than walking back and forth to the parts department to retrieve needed items. And Relo can move several hundred pounds at a time, reducing the potential for injuries among techs and parts personnel.

“Reynolds is always looking for ways we can enhance efficiencies and help improve outcomes for dealerships,” Walsh said. “Relo is a prime example of our constant push toward the future and focus on innovation that drives the industry forward.”

Walsh said he plans to make another major announcement at the upcoming Amplify conference regarding “a significant technological advancement” the company is making related to artificial intelligence.
