Ship.Cars brings in ex-ADESA executive to gain traction with auctions

Looking to boost its market share in the auto auction sector, Ship.Cars has added a former ADESA executive as its new vice president of SaaS sales and remarketing.
The provider of software for the car-hauling industry announced it has hired Eddie Ammar, who served almost 20 years in leadership roles with ADESA and as a consultant for OPENLANE.
“While our world is rapidly evolving with AI and digital innovation, auto auctions still rely heavily on manual processes,” Ship.Cars vice president of business development Justin McCarthy said. “Our LoadMate Pro platform helps auctions streamline operations, improve efficiency and reduce costs. With Eddie on board, we’re well-positioned to modernize the auction space, delivering innovative solutions that create real value for our clients.”

In his most recent role with ADESA, as vice president of centralized operations for the company’s U.S. auctions, he led more than 100 team members in four divisions and supported 72 auction facilities across North America. Ship.Cars said his leadership drove operational improvements, launched high-margin products and created scalable logistics and claims management processes.
Ammar is a National Auto Auction Association Warren Young Fellow. He’s served as co-chair of the NAAA Auction Standards Committee and the Automotive Remarketing Alliance Industry Advancement Committee.
Ammar said Ship.Cars has “built an auction-focused TMS that brings unmatched simplicity and visibility to vehicle transportation, benefiting auctions of every size. My focus will be on delivering scalable, partner-centered solutions and building strong, collaborative relationships across our industry.”
