Hertz Car Sales debuts ‘fully online car-buying experience’

Building on its recent work with Amazon Autos, Hertz Car Sales has launched what it is calling “a fully online car-buying experience” on its website.
Consumers can browse, finance and buy used cars completely online through HertzCarSales.com, which the company says, “has transformed from an online catalog into a full-service e-commerce platform.”
In a news release, Hertz CEO Gil West said, “Our new e-commerce platform marks a major step forward in modernizing how we serve our customers with a seamless journey from browsing to ownership.
“By enhancing our digital capabilities, we’re meeting customers where they are and giving them greater visibility into our inventory, easier purchasing processes, and broader access to quality Hertz vehicles,” West said. “This also marks a critical milestone in executing our strategy to make retail our primary car selling channel.”
Tuesday’s move marks the latest in a series of growth moves for Hertz Car Sales.
In August, Hertz Car Sales announced it had joined the Amazon Autos platform, a move that brought thousands of used vehicles from Hertz to Amazon Autos.
Hertz Car Sales was the first fleet dealer to partner with Amazon Autos. The Hertz Car Sales-Amazon Autos partnership launched in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and Seattle, but now has expanded to all 45 Hertz Car Sales locations across the U.S.
Hertz Car Sales also announced in August that it has expanded its Hertz Rent2Buy program to more than 100 cities across the U.S. The program is designed to provide consumers with “an extended test drive” on used vehicles from Hertz, with the “try before you buy” approach.
Looking forward, Hertz Car Sales is launching an advertising campaign Wednesday with Super Bowl winner Tom Brady for a national campaign designed to show the ease of buying at the company’s 45 locations across the U.S.
