If you want to keep up with these Joneses, it’s going to cost you a lot.
Danny and Gail Jones, owners of Maryland-based Jones Junction Automotive Group, have pledged to donate $20 million to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health.
The donation will be the largest single contribution in the hospital system’s history and will support a multi-year rebranding and expansion of UCH’s seven primary care centers across the region.
In a news release, Jones Junction said the investment will create expanded services, shorter wait times and greater access to care for more than 260,000 Harford County residents.
The centers provide families with preventive care, pediatrics, women’s health, chronic disease management, mental health care and other services. UCH said its expansion will allow for more than 100,000 additional patient visits each year and create new healthcare jobs in the community.
UCH president Aaron Rabinowitz said the donation will make sure “residents can access care when and where they need it most. This $20 million investment is more than a donation — it is a commitment to healthier families, stronger businesses and a more vibrant community.”

The Danny and Gail Jones Primary Care-Bel Air location was moved to a new site in July, across from UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. The facility was designed with features that allow for an easier patient experience, including check-in kiosks and accessible parking, and provides primary care services including physical exams, immunizations and treatment for ongoing health issues.
“Jones Junction was founded on the belief that our success only matters if we lift up the community around us,” CEO Danny Jones said. “This gift reflects the values passed down from my grandfather and continued through every generation of our family leadership. We are here for Harford County. Just as our dealerships have grown alongside this community for more than a century, we must invest in its future health.”
Jones Junction, which was founded in 1917 by Danny’s grandfather C.M. Jones, operates 12 dealerships at nine Maryland locations. The company said it’s “deeply rooted in serving both customers and community” through its Jones for a Lifetime program and its philanthropic Jones for a Cause initiative.

Sheehy begins annual Fall Food Drive
Sheehy Auto Stores has launched its annual Fall Food Drive to benefit that serve families in need in the areas served by its dealerships.
Through Nov. 14, Sheehy’s 20 locations in Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. will be collecting canned goods and non-perishable food items to be donated to food banks and pantries within each dealership’s community.
“Our annual food drive is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when our communities come together,” president Vince Sheehy said. “Each of our dealerships partners with a local food bank, so this effort truly hits home. It’s a meaningful way to bring greater awareness to food insecurity in our surrounding communities and make a direct impact where we live and work.”
GNYADA honored as a Top Trade Association
The Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association has been selected by City & State in the publication’s inaugural list of Top Trade Associations in New York.
In a news release, GNYADA said the honor underscores its “outstanding dedication to advocacy, industry standards, education, networking and economic growth: throughout New York state.
City & State cited GNYADA for its role in advancing the interests of its members and helping shape New York’s economic and professional landscape.
“Our board of directors and dedicated staff have worked continuously to support our members, strengthen the auto industry and contribute positively to New York’s economic well-being,” GNYADA president Mark Schienberg said. “This recognition reflects the collective commitment of our dealers, staff and partners to excellence and progress.”
