Rick Case Automotive Group’s latest charitable contribution was a massive one.

The South Florida-based dealership group said its president and CEO, Rita Case, has donated $1 million to the region’s Baptist Health Foundation to benefit microsurgery research and technology at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care.

Baptist Health recognized Case’s gift by naming its parking facility at Baptist Health Medical Center in Plantation, Fla., the Rick Case Parking Garage after Case’s late husband Rick, the company’s founder.

“Rick loved to be surrounded by cars,” Rita Case said during the dedication ceremony, “and now he will be with his name on a 1,000-space parking garage. It’s fitting we are here in Plantation. It was 40 years ago that we opened the first Acura and Hyundai dealerships in the U.S. in Plantation.

“Research and technology are paramount to the future of healthcare. One of our most important philanthropic pillars is healthcare, and Baptist Health provides us with extraordinary care, life-saving technology and high-quality services throughout South Florida. We join Baptist Health in continuing to build a healthier community.”

The donation will support technology, staff, equipment, education, research and other infrastructure related to microsurgery and biomechanics for orthopedic and nerve treatment, Rock Case Automotive said in a news release, helping Baptist Health orthopedic surgeons and researchers restore mobility, function and quality of life for patients with hand injuries and disabilities.

“We thank Rita for her vision, generosity and trust as we pursue our mission to deliver compassionate, world-class care,” Baptist Health Foundation CEO Alex Villoch said. “Baptist Health is extraordinary because it is powered by remarkable individuals like her, whose leadership and heart make transformative care possible.”

Bommarito adds another St. Louis-area dealership

Bommarito Automotive Group has acquired David Taylor Ellisville Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Ellisville, Mo., from David Taylor, according to Performance Brokerage Services, which brokered the transaction.

The dealership, which has been in operation since 1970, has earned Carfax’s Top-Rated Dealer honor each of the past five years. The store has been renamed Bommarito Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

Bommarito Automotive Group was founded in 1971 by Frank Bommarito, who opened a single Oldsmobile franchise in Ellisville, just outside of St. Louis, in 1971. The family-owned and operated dealership group, which operates 12 dealership locations in the St. Louis metro area, is now led by Bommarito’s son John Bommarito, who began working at the dealership at age 12 and joined the service department at 15.

Bommarito Automotive Group is also involved in motorsports as a partner in NASCAR’s Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport and title sponsor of the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 IndyCar Series race.
