American Auto Auction Group Acquires Texas Auction

American Auto Auction Group took what it called “an important step” late last week when it acquired a Texas operation.
Group officials announced the acquisition of Texas Lone Star Auto Auction in Carrollton, Texas, a suburb of Dallas.
Founded by the Dunning family in 2001, Texas Lone Star Auto Auction holds a weekly dealer consignment auction at its facility on Country Club Drive in Carrollton every Thursday at 2 p.m.
AAAG indicated Andy Dunning and Jeff Dunning Jr. will continue to manage Texas Lone Star AA.
“I am pleased to announce that effective today Texas Lone Star Auto Auction takes its place as the newest member of the AAAG family of auctions,” explained Steve Simon, chief executive officer of American Auto Auction Group.
“The addition of Texas Lone Star represents another important step in AAAG’s plans to become a national platform of independent auctions,” Simon continued.
Keith Lelux, AAAG’s chief operating officer, elaborated by saying, “partnering with the Dunning family in one of the country’s most vibrant markets is an excellent fit for American Auto Auction Group.
“With 30 years of experience in the Dallas/Fort Worth market area, the Dunnings have built strong relationships with auto dealers and have a well-earned reputation for friendly, responsive customer care,” Lelux went on to add. “We are very pleased that Andy Dunning and Jeff Dunning, Jr. will continue in their management roles at Texas Lone Star Auto Auction.”
Jeff Dunning Sr. reacted to the acquisition by pointing out, “We are thrilled to become part of American Auto Auction Group’s family of auctions. We admire Steve Simon’s and Keith Lelux’s leadership and experience in the industry and are honored to carry the AAAG banner here in Texas.”
