FAIRFIELD, Calif. –

Copart announced late last week it plans to relocate its corporate headquarters and establish three divisional processing centers.

The company’s headquarters will shift from Fairfield, Calif., to Dallas in 2012.

Executives indicated the Fairfield site will become a divisional processing center along with facilities in Grand Prairie, Texas, and Hartford, Conn. Copart noted certain functions currently performed at its Fairfield corporate headquarters will transition to these centers during the next two years.

“This change will position us closer to our customers geographically, resulting in improved customer service and greater operational efficiencies,” explained Jay Adair, Copart’s chief executive officer.

“Combined with our planned implementation of new technologies, the realignment of Copart’s business and corporate operations will allow us to better respond to the needs of our clients and the global market,” Adair added.
