ADESA Says New Program Can Benefit Both Buying, Selling Dealers
CARMEL, Ind. — ADESA has rolled out a new program nationally that it says can give both buying and selling dealers greater confidence in the wholesale marketplace.
Through the Dealer Preferred program, ADESA noted that sellers get the top lane placement online and at the physical auctions, while buyers can enjoy a 60-day buyback guarantee and an easy avenue to acquire frontline vehicles.
It has gone national within the last month, officials noted.
"It's really a win-win situation for dealers," explained Tim Zierden, ADESA's vice president of dealer consignment.
"Dealer Preferred gives buyers guarantees and sellers premier lane placement-which creates both buying and selling confidence," he added.
Explaining how the program is conducted, ADESA noted that sellers are charged a nominal fee to participate in the Dealer Preferred program, which gives qualifying vehicles top lane placement and condition reports.
Essentially, officials contend that vehicles under the Dealer Preferred program are "advantageously positioned for sale" through both physical auction and online (LiveBlock and DealerBlock) channels, as they include complete condition reports that include photographs of the specific model.
ADESA also emphasized that these vehicles' placement online allows selling dealers generate greater exposure that can help them sell qualified frontline vehicles at the physical auction.
Qualifications for the Dealer Preferred include vehicles being five years old or less, as well as having mileages of 100,000 or less and clean vehicle history report.
Once a buyer has bought a Dealer Preferred unit, either through an ADESA auction or online, they are sent a free post-sale inspection along with a 60-day buyback guarantee.
Should the buyer decide to return the vehicle, the person can do so within 60 days and 95 percent of the unit's purchase price will be given back to the buyer. ADESA said this does not include transportation costs, buyer fees or any other expenses from returning a vehicle.
"The great part of this guarantee for dealers is that they can purchase a vehicle, try to sell it on their lot and return it within 60 days if it doesn't sell," officials emphasized. "Dealers virtually eliminate any buying risk with the Dealer Preferred program, and it's a great way for them to test out different types of frontline inventory on their sales lots.
"They may unexpectedly find a certain make or model becomes a core inventory unit for buyers in their area," they added.
The company encouraged any dealer interested in learning more about the program to get in touch with the dealer sales and service manager at the local ADESA auction.
