CARMEL, Ind. –
ADESA says it is wholeheartedly championing the National Auto Auction Association’s National Certification Standard program and is using ADESA.com to demonstrate how it has “embraced” NCS.
ADESA has added the NCS Web icon to its website’s “Products and Services” page.
The icon is meant to show site visitors that all ADESA facilities are using the NCS program.
NCS was unveiled Jan. 1 and NAAA said that the rollout of NCS is an ongoing procedure. It will be implemented in stages throughout the new few weeks, officials noted.
“At ADESA, we have readily embraced this uniform system for the wholesale certification of used vehicles,” said ADESA executive vice president of operations and finance Paul Lips, who also served on the committee that provided input for the NCS program. “We wanted to do more than just say we support the program; we wanted to show everyone who visits our website that we have fully embraced the National Certification Standard program throughout our organization.”
As most likely know, included in the NCS program is a 48-point checklist governing areas like inspections, reconditioning and marketing. There are three different levels to NCS — Platinum, Gold and Silver — to accommodate the variety of vehicles and consignors in the industry.

“This program is easy to use, and it is mutually beneficial for everyone — sellers, dealers, auctions. We, as an industry, now have a policy in place that not only creates uniform certification standards, but also sets the groundwork for better business practices across all channels,” Lips added.
