It was all blue bloods in Kelley Blue Book’s Best Resale Value Awards.
Earning the top spots in the awards released Thursday were Toyota, which has now won the Best Resale Value: Brand award for six straight years, and Lexus, celebrating its fifth straight win for Best Resale Value: Luxury Brand.
Like banners hanging in Allen Fieldhouse or Rupp Arena, Toyota has collected Best Resale Value wins 10 times, with Lexus taking home seven titles.
This year is the 24th installment of the Best Resale Value Awards. Toyota has won Best Resale Value: Brand honors in 10 of the last 13 years: 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
The awards recognize vehicles for projected retained value through the initial five-year ownership period. Focusing on vehicles from the 2026 model year, this year’s winners spotlight brand, category and top 10 winners.
“Toyota and Lexus continue to reign supreme with top average residual values, meaning their vehicles are projected to retain more of their original MSRP over the first five years of ownership in comparison to other mainstream and luxury brand averages, respectively,” said Rheia Szymczyk, KBB’s senior manager, valuation and analysis operations, in a news release.

KBB notes: Residual values used for award calculations are based on the 2026 model-year vehicles that appear in the January/February 2026 Kelley Blue Book® Residual Value Guide. Top 10 models appear in alphabetical order.
