NEW YORK -
Dave Angelicchio recently reflected back on his term as president of the National Auto Auction Association: a time when implementation of significant changes in policy and procedure occurred, as well as the association’s structural reorganization.

The owner and general manager of Pittsburgh Independent Auto Auction joined five other ServNet owners who have served as president of the NAAA: Frank Brasher, Larry Brasher, Henry Stanley, Ray Nichols and Bob McConkey, who was Angelicchio’s immediate predecessor.

“One of my highest priorities as NAAA president was to continue the work that Bob McConkey and I had started in the area of auction standards,” Angelicchio stressed.

“Developing consistent standards is certainly an ongoing process, and one that plays a major role in the health and success of our industry,” Angelicchio continued. “I was very pleased to see the implementation and almost universal adoption of the arbitration standard this year, and to note the progress we have made in developing the certification standard that was rolled out at the annual conference in New York.”

As he oversaw the processes involved in the work of the NAAA standards committee and helped to combine the spring NAAA meeting with the CAR conference successfully, Angelicchio focused much of his energy on an even larger project. He wanted to restructure the NAAA in order to improve efficiencies and properly align the association for the future.

“The highlight of my year as NAAA president was working with Frank Hackett, the NAAA staff and the association’s executive committee,” Angelicchio noted.

“These people are all committed to improving our organization and worked tirelessly on our behalf,” Angelicchio went on to say. “The restructuring of the NAAA into a single corporate entity with four chapters will positively impact the effectiveness of our association for years to come.”

As the NAAA chairman of the board, Angelicchio will serve on several committees as he works with new president Jay Cadigan and president-elect Charlotte Pyle.

“The NAAA has positioned itself as the leader of the remarketing industry and that stature will continue to grow,” Angelicchio emphasized.

“We will continue to develop and implement consistent standards, and NAAA will flourish under strong leadership,” he said.

In addition to chairing the scholastic foundation, Angelicchio will chair the auction standards committee and continue his work with the finance/budget committee and the management of NAAA’s investment portfolio.

“I value the opportunity I have had to serve the NAAA as its president,” Angelicchio declared.

“It has been my pleasure to spread the message of the NAAA over the past year and have been pleased to discover the excellent way that NAAA and its member auctions are perceived in the industry,” he concluded.
