Auto Data Direct, a Web-based motor vehicle record database, announced Tuesday it has added three states to its lineup.

Users can now access records from Washington, Virginia and Indiana, bringing the company’s state count to 31.

Commenting on the news, Jim Taylor, president, said, "This is an important milestone in the growth of our company's services.

"ADD's core business is to provide real-time motor vehicle inquiries to DPPA-qualified companies.  We've grown from initially offering access to Florida records in 1999 to now working with 31 states for this important real-time service.   Our customers value a single point of access for records so that the process of finalizing transactions is easy, accurate, and can be completed from online without extra steps to retrieve the information from other sources," he continued.

The records provided by ADD include include owner, lien holder, and registration information as well as vehicle data such as make, model, year, tag and title number, and records are made available through a secure internet connection, based on a company's qualifications under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA), the company explained.

On top of the state data, the company also provides a national title pointer with information from the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System.

In addition to Washington, Virginia, and Indiana, ADD offers real-time access to Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wisconsin.
