RIO LINDA, Calif. -

In looking at recent market activity in his auction’s area, John Brasher found that October began with a bang for dealers, but their retail sales were softer at the end of the month.

This led to wholesale sales dropping a bit at Brasher’s Sacramento Auto Auction, he said in the latest video summing up recent activity at the auction.

“Today in the market, overall, generally speaking, it was a little bit softer than it has been in previous weeks. Dealers started out the month of October really strong, but here in our area, the month ended up a little weaker than it had (been) previously on the retail side,” he said in the "Brasher’s Post Sale Report" video from last week.

“So as a result, we saw a little bit softer sales here in the auction today," he added.

“Dealers still need inventory … they will still pay all the money for the right vehicles, but overall the market was a little bit softer than it has been,” Brasher continued.

The video goes on to show pictures and prices of vehicles that sold at Brasher’s Sacramento AA, clips of dealers sharing their insight and more.
