WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -

Volkswagen of America broke ground Wednesday for what is set to be a new 30,000-square-foot dealership in downtown Walnut Creek, Calif. The facility will be built to accommodate the automaker’s growing sales and customer base and will provide customers with a list of increased and enhanced amenities.

"Two of Volkswagen’s major objectives are excellent customer service and a distinctive brand presence," said Werner Mersch, Volkswagen’s Western region director.

"This new facility marries both of those concepts by providing customers with a vast array of top-notch services in a state-of-the-art facility that touts Volkswagen’s new look," he added.

The new Dirito Brothers dealership will tout amenities such as an enhanced service department with enclosed service reception, a large customer lounge and a vast vehicle showroom.

The Dirito Brothers, recognized as a top-performing dealer for the automaker, boast a strong history of success in the San Francisco East Bay. When completed, the new facility will triple the size of their current facility.

Moreover, the new dealership will showcase VW’s new White Frame Facility image design, a simple shape which will be incorporated into all elements of the dealership, including the presentation of vehicles and products.

The dealership will also feature sustainable design aspects, such as low-irrigation landscaping and permeable paving systems.
