SANTA MONICA, Calif. -

Edmunds.com now has an iPhone app that allows consumer to complete a wide array of car-shopping tasks while they are on the go, including learning and saving information about dealerships, among several other functions.

“It’s hard to imagine a more powerful tool to have on hand at the car dealership, given that the app makes accessible the most useful elements of the Edmunds.com site,” shared Stephen Gandee, vice president of mobile and emerging technology for Edmunds.com.

“And we tried to make some elements of the app fun for people who just enjoy looking at cars,” he added.

The Edmunds.com app can be used to:

—Put together all the details they desire in a vehicle. Then, this can be e-mailed as an “Edmunds.com Window Sticker.”
—Determine a good price to have in mind when negotiating with dealers by determining what the Edmunds.com’s True Market Value price is for the specific vehicle.
—Browse listings of new vehicles and check out dealer ratings.
—Utilize the “Favorites” screen for saving research, vehicles and dealers.
—Check out high-resolution photographs. Edmunds.com has tailored these for viewing on the iPhone 4

Edmunds.com plans to add some more amenities in the next few weeks. Among these are Facebook sharing and vehicle reviews. Edmunds.com also plans to roll out an app consumers with Android phones can use.

The app can be accessed via the following iTunes store page: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/edmunds/id393630966.
