SANTA MONICA, Calif. –
Based on data Edmunds.com gave Auto Remarketing sister publication SubPrime Auto Finance News, there was a 363-basis-point differential between the state with the highest average APR and lowest for all transactions by franchised dealers reported to the site in February.
Pacing the nation for this metric was Louisiana with an average APR of 6.19 percent for deals completed at franchised stores last month.
On the opposite end was Vermont as Edmunds.com discovered that state led the nation with the lowest APR in February at 2.56 percent.
The Top 10 highest for February included:
1. Louisiana: 6.19 percent
2. Mississippi: 5.41 percent
3. Georgia: 5.23 percent
4. Texas: 5.22 percent
5. West Virginia: 5.18 percent
6. Oklahoma: 5.09 percent
7. Alabama: 5.05 percent
8. South Carolina: 5.01 percent
9. Kentucky: 4.93 percent
10. Arkansas: 4.85 percent
