OAKVILLE, Ontario — Ford Motor Co. of Canada rolled out an incentive program this week that can help its dealer body boost sales.

In a deal that started Thursday and runs through Aug. 31, Ford of Canada dealers can offer shoppers Ford Employee Pricing on most of the Ford and Lincoln brands' 2010 and 2011 lineups.

Additionally, the company is also offering the expanded Drive One Challenge, where consumers can come into a store and take any new Ford or Lincoln for a spin. Should the shopper choose to go with another automaker — and makes this decision within 100 hours of the test drive — Ford will pay out $100 to the consumer.

"The Ford brand now has the highest initial quality among all non-luxury brands and we are inspiring even more Canadians to get behind the wheel and experience that quality," stated David Mondragon, Ford of Canada's president and chief executive officer.

"We are so confident in both our Ford and Lincoln lineup that we are willing to pay $100 within 100 hours if a customer experiences our vehicles and still purchases a vehicle from a competitor," he added.

Another strong selling point for Ford of Canada's dealers is the automaker's Recycle Your Ride program, which gives shoppers up to $3,000 to put toward a buying a new Ford or Lincoln vehicle from model years 2010 or 2011 after they bring in a 2003 model-year or older unit. This deal augments the benefits via Retire Your Ride, the Government of Canada program that shells out $300 for turning in 1995 or older models.

Ford said the Recycle Your Ride program has picked up a lot of steam. In fact, more than 8,500 shoppers have taken part.

And thanks to these strong results, Ford is now making the program available through the end of September.
