FORT WORTH, Texas -

General Motors Financial Co. revealed its 2010 Auction of the Year on Thursday. Receiving the honor was Rawls Auto Auction in Leesville, S.C., which enjoyed its second consecutive year of winning. Moreover, this was the auction’s third time winning the honor in the last five years.

Explaining how the company determines Auction of the Year — which is part of the national Auction of Excellence program — officials said that each year participating auctions are evaluated by GM Financial in various criteria.

Among the categories of evaluation are customer service, marketing promotions, pre-sale activities and overall auction success.

Rawls AA — which won the Southeast region — beat out for other regional winners to claim this year’s Auction of the Year honor.

“The Rawls team has developed an outstanding level of communication with our remarketing team” stated Dan Heinrich, GM Financial’s vice president of asset remarketing.

“Their hard work is evident when we send our auction reps to Rawls on the day of the sale as all vehicles are on the sale line, reconditioning work is complete and paperwork is final and ready to review without fail,” Heinrich added. “Their work ethic presents our product with integrity, and their commitment to our partnership has earned them the Auction of the Year award two years in a row.”

Adding his perspective, Rawls AA owner Jimmy Rawls stated: “It’s an honor to win one year, but even better to win two years in a row. Our team is great and we are focused on winning again next year. I cannot say enough about our team. They’re a great group of people and deserve all the credit for this achievement.”

Rawls AA took home Auction of the Year honors last year as well as in 2006.

Sharing more about this year for Rawls AA, GM Financial bestowed three quarterly Auction of Excellence awards in the Southeast region to the auction.

—Midwest: ADESA Kansas City (Belton, Mo.)
—Northeast: Harrisburg Auto Auction (Mechanicsburg, Pa.)
—Southwest: Sparkling City Auto Auction (Robstown, Texas)
—West Coast: ADESA San Diego
