GREENSBORO, N.C. -

Now, dealers and buyers searching Greensboro Auto Auction’s online inventory can view Carfax Vehicle History Reports, as well as access Carfax Auction Quick Check while searching through what its set to run through the lanes.

Company officials noted access to Carfax is available from both the search results and vehicle details pages.

As part of the integration with Greensboro AA, Carfax is also offering a free trial of Carfax Auction Quick Check to all the auction’s buyers.

The free trial starts Nov. 14 and runs through Jan. 31.

Launched in September, Carfax Auction Quick Check is a new online auction tool that gives subscribing dealers access to vehicle history details, such as ownership history, branded title information and damage records reported to Carfax.

The Auction Quick Check tool also highlights cars that would command a premium price on the retail market, such as Carfax 1-Owner cars, “allowing dealers to bid competitively on these much-sought-after units,” Carfax officials explained when the product first launched.

Commenting on the recent news, Jerry Barker, general manager at Greensboro Auto Auction, said, “Vehicle history is a vital part of the acquisition process for many dealers.

“With this integration, we’re giving dealers easy access to the information they need to buy with more confidence. Most important, it’s another step forward in providing our customers with the best buying experience possible at Greensboro Auto Auction,” he continued.

Auction officials also stressed that studies show “running a Carfax Report prior to acquisition improves inventory turn and increases profit.”

“It’s critical that dealers pay the right price for cars customers want,” they continued.

One of the auction’s clients also expressed his enthusiasm for the Carfax integration.

“Greensboro Auto Auction just made our jobs a whole lot easier,” said Ronnie Ellington, owner/principal of Ellington-Brim Chevrolet in Creedmoor, N.C.

“We need access to Carfax since more than half the cars we buy come from Greensboro. Pulling the Carfax information for any car ahead of time helps our guys quickly determine which cars are right for our lot and pay the right price for the ones we want. It’s a huge convenience,” he concluded.
