TORRANCE, Calif. –
A Honda Facebook fan calling himself Dustin R. is apparently so enamored with the brand that he got the company’s logo tattooed on his forearm. Unconventional? Quite possibly, but the Iowa man’s admiration for Honda has not gone unreturned.
As part of the automaker’s ongoing “We’re Fans of You Too” Week to celebrate hitting 1 million fans on Facebook, Honda vice president of marketing Steve Center airbrush-tattooed Dustin’s name and likeness on a similar part on his arm.
Throughout the week, Honda and its employees, like Center, have been reciprocating the support shown by Facebook fans by giving back some personalized fandom of their own.
For example, Honda voiced its gratitude for fans like Anny S., who shaved the Honda VTEC logo in the back of his head. To say thanks, a Honda sales territory manager shaved Anny’s name into his hair and displayed the pictures for all to see on Facebook.
To pay back the admiration from another fan calling himself Chris W. — who cut the Honda logo into his yard — Honda cut “Chris” into the lawn at the corporate headquarters in Torrance, Calif.
“We’re honored to have one million Honda brand Facebook fans, and we wanted to show our appreciation in a meaningful way," said Alicia Jones, social media strategist at American Honda Motor Co.

“How many people do you know who would carve someone else’s name into their hair? We’re so fortunate to have amazing and dedicated Honda brand fans. And, that’s the kind of commitment our associates have to our fans. We really do love them back,” she concluded.
