PLEASANTON, Calif. –

IronPlanet Motors released a new tool on Wednesday that can help auction buyers determine shipping estimates, enabling them to make more educated buying decisions when they’re bidding in the company’s online sales.

“IronPlanet Motors is dedicated to helping customers bid with confidence,” stated Randy Berry, IronPlanet’s senior vice president of operations and services. “Along with our detailed inspection reports and IronPlanet Motors’ exclusive IronClad Assurance, the new shipping estimator allows buyers to make the most informed purchasing decisions by providing them accurate and immediate shipping estimates.”

Users can find the shipping estimator on the shipping tab, which is located in the inspection report of a vehicle selling in the U.S.

Taking the location designated on the inspection report, the calculator determines where the item is being sent from, while the shipping destination is designated based on the user’s location. Users can also change the destination (provided it is in North America).

Once the user hits the calculate button, the tools utilizes proprietary technology from IronPlanet and Rounders Logistics to figure out about how much the shipping cost would be from the origin to the destination.
