WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. –
J.D. Power and Associates made its final projection of November new-vehicle retail sales based on trends found earlier — that a strong selling pace would continue as the month closed.
As a result, the firm’s analysts think November’s retail sales figure will come in at 10 million units
For total sales, J.D. Power forecasted the seasonally adjusted annualized rate (SAAR) is expected to settle above the 12-million unit level with fleet sales accounting for 19 percent of November’s sales.
“Strength in retail sales has continued past mid-November, revealing a trend toward sustained upward momentum,” explained Jeff Schuster, executive director of global forecasting at J.D. Power.
“It appears that consumer concern regarding the pace of the recovery may be easing as the industry exhibits gradual improvement,” Schuster added.
